    Only a Chinese person would pick those numbers: homonym for "prosper happiness happiness happiness".

    I think W is the licence plate for one of the east coast States.

    When I was teaching English to international students (yes, Adrian, I was part of your scene for a few years), I bought a new car with the plate ART818. Being an arty kinda guy, I wanted my students to share in the experience. All the Chinese ones wanted to buy the plate off me - because of the 8s. The ART didn't interest them in the slightest.

    8 is a lucky number. 4 is not. 4 and death are pronounced almost the same in Chinese.
